Fairy House

Yesterday we made fairy houses out of dried gourds.  It turned out to be a fun craft project for young and old alike.  For those that thought a fairy house was a bit much, bird houses were made instead.  We even got the men involved after we asked them to cut a door out.  Once the dremmel was taking out it became kind of fun for them(or maybe it was cause it was too cold to do anything else)!

We used a dremmel to cut doors.

We used steel wool to sand the gourds down.   Some of us also used an electric sander.

  1. The kids loved this project. Lots of laughter. The adults had a great time helping and making their own fairy/bird house. Maybe need to grow another crop of birdhouse gourds? Karla
